About

You spend too much time crafting your delicious product to cover it with anything less than awesome packaging. That’s why our team of beer-packaging experts created a 100% recyclable and compostable multi-packaging option that not only works, but looks great, too.

At Earthrings, we understand what it’s like to create something that pushes the boundaries of the norm–something that makes the world a better place–just like you.

Boldly go where no beer has gone before: Get Earthrings.

Earthrings was founded by some fine folks
in the beverage biz who recognized that there was a need
to move towards sustainability.

Created under the umbrella of Promac, Inc, Earthrings was the brainchild of beverage industry veterans with over 25 years of experience. Passionate about developing sustainable alternatives to plastic, we consulted and collaborated with beverage industry buddies–printers, die cutters, paper pros–to reinvent the packaging wheel.

To create Earthings, we:

  • Collaborated with beverage manufacturers to make sure we understood their pain points.

  • Learned first-hand from those that need a multipack solution and tailored to their needs.

  • Spent 14 months working with some of the biggest cardboard manufacturers in the world.

  • Put our design through the ringer–Earthrings has been through significant amounts of field testing.

Through trial and error, first-hand testing, and lots of gumption, the result is totally compostable, sturdy, cardboard packaging.

At a time when we’re all looking to reduce our environmental footprint, we’re committed to making a difference.

Howdy!

Meet the Team

Mike Burns's headshot for Earthrings.

  • Director of Sales

Mike has been part of Earthring’s parent company, Promac, since 2013, joining our team after wetting his beverage whistle as the managing partner of a trio of brewpubs.

Mike’s passion for craft beer goes back to his college days: Nothing was ever the same after that first sip of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. He brings passion for excellence (and great beer) to our team every day, helping clients get their delicious wares into four, six, or eight packs—using the most environmentally friendly packaging on the planet.

“Every day that I get to do what I do, in an industry I love, is a great day. But I particularly love the first day out on the line, helping a brewery set up their new Earthrings program. It’s a great feeling, knowing that we are making a difference for our planet.”

On a warm summer day: Find Mike enjoying a nice crisp Helles lager or a hoppy IPA.

  • Senior Marketing Analyst

Marla has been a driving force behind our marketing efforts, technology support, and resource coordination since 2022, but her journey with Promac (Earthrings’ parent company) began back in 2017.

With a curious mind and passion for learning, Marla thrives on taking on new challenges, which is why she was a perfect fit for the Earthrings team. Keen to embrace opportunity, Marla helped take Earthrings from an idea to a reality.

“The freedom to create, explore, brainstorm, and collaborate gets me jazzed to walk into work every day. Sharing in the creation—and watching the evolution!—of Earthrings is incredibly rewarding. I love being part of this remarkable team.”

On a warm summer day: Marla sips on an icy Allagash White— in Earthrings packaging, of course.

  • VP of Sales/Director of Operations

Shaun and Repac Products have been partners with Earthrings from the start, playing a key role in the development, testing, and market introduction of our innovative packaging solutions.

Repac Products has been a trusted supplier for beverage producers for over 25 years, providing packaging solutions, services, and equipment. Shaun’s experience with Repac has given him the ability to tailor packaging solutions and meet the unique needs of any beverage production facility.

“I have always been one who dives headfirst into new passions—both personally and professionally—and strive to be the best at whatever it is. The harder it is, the more I enjoy it, whether I am at work, or golfing, or tinkering.”

On a warm summer day: Catch Shaun drinking a Carbon Tequila cocktail.

  • Co-owner & President

Jim is the driving force behind Earthrings. Both a grand dreamer and big doer, Jim led the team to build Earthrings from the ground up.

With over 40 years of experience in product and business development at Promac (Earthrings’ parent company), Jim has a deep-rooted passion for building—whether it’s machinery, teams, or entire businesses. His hands-on approach has led him to design our innovative ring products and applicator machines, while also managing the relationships with suppliers that are crucial to our success.

“The biggest lesson I’ve learned throughout my career is it’s all about relationships with the people—both internally and externally—that get things done. Lucky for me, I love working with people, problem solving, and getting my hands dirty.”

On a warm summer day: Jim keeps things hoppy with a craft IPA.

Robb Schultz headshot.

  • Service and Machine Support

Robb has been our resident handyman, jack-of-all-trades, and fix-it guy since 2018. Without him, things just wouldn’t work right around here.

Robb brings a wealth of hands-on experience from his diverse background, which includes everything from auto mechanics, to construction, to owning his own pizza joint (ask him about his crust sometime). He’s the king of trouble-shooting and first point of contact when clients have a problem with a machine, whether it’s a large piece of equipment or a hand applicator.

“Ever since I was little, I’ve loved taking apart things and putting them back together. Figuring out how things work is my passion, and I love the challenge of fixing something that is not working. Doing that to help a customer? That’s the absolute best!”

On a warm summer day: Robb quenches his thirst with a refreshing Coke.

Sara Schultz's headshot for Earthrings.

  • Operations Manager

Sara has been an integral part of Promac (Earthrings’ parent company) since 1997 and has been part of the Earthrings crew since the very beginning.

As Operations Manager, Sara wears many hats, overseeing everything from vendor coordination to ensuring customer orders are fulfilled and shipped out smoothly. Passionate about people, Sara finds joy in helping others succeed.

“My goal is always to make customers happy. I love helping, and I get excited when we get to play a small role in their success.”

On a warm summer day: Sara’s been known to sample a frosty High Noon.

  • Co-owner

Michael handles big-picture finance and operations in his day-to-day role, both at Earthrings and Earthrings’ parent company, Promac.

“I am focused on finding ways to enhance relationships with work associates, customers, and suppliers, aiming to move those connections forward a little bit every day.”

Outside of work, Michael has a passion for wine and enjoys exploring wine country. He loves to travel, relax, and spend quality time with family and friends, often in the beautiful places where wine is produced.

Michael’s appreciation for fine wine and good company pairs perfectly with his dedication to fostering strong professional relationships.

On a warm summer day: Michael finds a craft IPA generally hits the spot.
